Los Angeles Birth Doula Services

A Different Kind of Birth Doula in Los Angeles

I am a birth doula in Los Angeles who believes that birth is both a physiological process and a deeply human experience. Becoming a mother is a profound rite of passage — one that calls for grounded wisdom, emotional safety, nurturing care, and informed support.

My care blends evidence-based science, physiology-first birth practices, informed consent and advocacy, and the exploration of birth as a transformational threshold. I serve families throughout Los Angeles with a deeply personal, grounded presence — honoring your values, listening to your needs, and centering your voice every step of the way. My intention is to ensure you feel grounded, protected, informed and deeply held- no matter how you envision your birth or how your birth unfolds.

Preparation is one of the most powerful tools for a positive birth experience, and I prioritize it deeply. My focus is on the way that we prepare for birth and becoming a parent and how it can improve your experience of giving birth regardless of how you Birth. Preparation with me goes beyond positions and pain coping — it includes physical, psychological, nervous-system and relationship readiness so you enter birth grounded, informed, and connected to your inner authority.

This is not a one-size-fits all- approach. This is care that is attuned to you- your story, your body, your fears, your strengths and your vision for birth. This is your journey, and I’m here as your steady guide and anchor through pregnancy, labor and postpartum.

I support all types of births and people:

individuals, couples, single mothers, queer families, surrogate parent(s), hospital birth,  unmedicated birth, medicated births with epidural, planned and unplanned Cesarean birth, induction, high intervention and high-risk birth, twin birth, VBAC.

Experience supporting births at:

Cedars Sinai, UCLA Santa Monica, UCLA Ronald Reagan, Huntington Hospital, Saint Joseph’s, Saint Johns, Kaiser Sunset, Kaiser Panorama City, Kaiser Woodland Hills, Good Samaritan, Northridge Dignity Health, Moxie Birth Center, Mind Body Birth Center, Graceful Birth Center.

My Approach: Physiology + Advocacy + Rite of Passage

Most doulas lean heavily in one direction. Very clinical OR heavily holistic or spiritual. My work bridges both.

Evidence-Based Care

Evidence based support helps us make decisions and maintain autonomy. I am up-to-date on the best available research to help you:

-understand the meaning of choices and give you options

-break down the benefits and risks of each choice

-ensure interventions are framed with clarity instead of fear

-act as a buffer in the room, give you time and space to process your choices

-ask clear, grounded questions

Physiology-First Preparation

Whether you are planning a medicated or unmedicated birth, preparing your body, mind and nervous system for labor is essential! We do this together using:

  • Positioning

  • Breathwork and regulation tools

  • Hormonal literacy

  • Nervous system conditioning

  • Movement during pregnancy to prepare for the marathon that is birth

  • Emotional preparation

  • Understanding how birth works — not just what to expect.

Advocacy & Informed Consent

Informed consent is not transactional. It is relational.

I help you:

  • Maintain autonomy in medical environments

  • Educate on how to advocate for yourself/your partner and respectfully and assertively communicate

  • Ensure your voice remains centered in the room by acting as your advocate

Nervous-System–Centered Labor Support

Labor intensity is not only physical — it is neurological.

I support you in:

  • Staying within your window of tolerance

  • Regulating during surges

  • Reducing adrenaline spikes

  • Preventing unnecessary escalation

  • Moving through intensity with steadiness

A regulated nervous system often changes the entire trajectory of birth.

Birth as a Rite of Passage

Preparation with me goes beyond positions and coping tools

We also prepare for:

  • Identity shifts

  • Relationship changes

  • Emotional thresholds

  • Fear release

  • Integration into motherhood

  • Navigating the tools necessary to meet the changes and transformation that bringing a child into the world brings to your identity, your relationships, your daily life, your job and life as a whole.

Whether your birth unfolds physiologically or with intervention, my goal is the same:

That you enter motherhood feeling intact, empowered, and deeply met.

The Mother’s Cottage Roadmap

This is not a childbirth course. It's a complete preparation for pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the profound transition into parenthood.

Over the years, I've read the books, completed the trainings, attended births, cared for mothers and families postpartum, supported breastfeeding journeys, studied herbal medicine, nervous system regulation, birth physiology, and explored the transformative experience of matrescence. Through every training, every birth, and every family I've supported, I found myself wishing there was one trusted place parents could turn for all of this information.

That's why I created this resource library.

It brings together the most valuable lessons from evidence-based research, trusted books, professional trainings, clinical experience, and holistic traditions into one thoughtfully curated, easy-to-follow guide. Blending science, practical tools, and holistic wisdom, it gives families the knowledge and confidence they need to prepare for pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and life with a new baby.

No more spending hours piecing together information from dozens of books, blogs, podcasts, and social media accounts. No more wondering which advice to trust or falling down confusing internet rabbit holes. Everything is organized in one comprehensive resource, so you can spend less time searching and more time preparing for one of the most meaningful transitions of your life.

Many of my clients are planning hospital births. Los Angeles hospitals move quickly. Interventions can escalate fast. Language can feel clinical. Decisions can feel urgent. You do not have to choose between holistic support and hospital safety. You can have both.

  • Create a calm, peaceful birth space

  • Advocate for your values and preferences

  • Navigate inductions with clarity

  • Prepare for epidural or unmedicated birth

  • Labor inside a hospital room confidently with positioning and available tools

  • Explore VBAC safely and confidently

  • Ask informed questions during interventions

  • Stay embodied even inside medical systems

I have supported families birthing at major Los Angeles hospitals including Cedars-Sinai, UCLA Santa Monica, Huntington Hospital, Kaiser facilities, and others.

The Cost Of A Birth Doula In Los Angeles

Investing in Your Birth Experience

Birth is one of life’s most powerful journeys, and the right support can shape it in profound and lasting ways. Choosing a doula is not simply a financial decision — it is an investment in your emotional safety, your physiological well-being, your birth experience, and your transition into motherhood.

The support you receive during this time can influence your confidence, your recovery, your mental health, your relationship with your baby, and the way you remember your birth for the rest of your life.

Investing in your birth is one of the most powerful gifts you can give to yourself, your baby, and your family.

Why Doula Support Matters - The Evidence Is Clear!

Decades of research show that having a doula significantly improves outcomes for both mothers and babies.

Hiring a doula is associated with:

  • 39% decrease in cesarean birth

  • 15% increase in spontaneous vaginal birth

  • 10% shorter labor

  • 31% decrease in dissatisfaction with the birth experience

  • Lower use of Pitocin, epidurals, and other interventions

  • Reduced likelihood of postpartum depression & anxiety

  • Improved bonding, confidence, and early breastfeeding

This is why organizations such as ACOG, WHO, and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend continuous labor support.
